According to CoinDesk, the China’s National Internet Finance Association (NIFA) has say that bitcoin exchanges lack legal foundation. In a statement, NIFA noted that bitcoin has become a conduit for illegal fundraising and money laundering.

According to CoinDesk, the bitcoin price has dropped below $4,000 for the first time in months. The speculation is that this drop could be related to regulatory uncertainty in China or recent comments from JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon.

Over on Medium, BitGo has announced SegWit integration for their consumer wallets. The post indicates that their users will achieve 50 percent cost savings in transaction fees.

According to CoinDesk, researchers working on Zcash have found a way to speed up the anonymous cryptocurrency.

Over on Reddit, nChain Chief Scientist Craig Wright hinted that he controls a majority of Bitcoin Cash’s network hashrate and any changes to the network’s protocol rules will have to go through him.
